Joining the conversation during the interview was Bill Burger, Sarasota County professional archeologist. The interview covers early Ruskin history and archeological and paleontology issues in South County.

Pictured are giant, Al Tomaini and midget, Colonel Casper Balsam on boats at Giants Camp, just south of the Alafia River Bridge (pictured in the background.) Tomaini, billed as being over 8 feet tall, was one of the first side show people to live in Gibsonton and opened the popular Giant's Fish Camp. This home, which is today listed on the National Register of Historic Places, sits at the corner of today's US 41 and College Avenue. It was reportedly designed by Adaline Miller, based on drawings of a Swiss Chalet that she found in a favored book. The building served Ruskin College as both a classroom and as the home for President George Miller and his wife, and Vice President of the College, Adaline Miller. Today it is owned by the Ruskin Woman's Club and serves as their headquarters.

Initial Subdivision Plans for first three sections of Apollo Beach from developer Francis Corr. Filed in 1958 and 1959. These sections of are bound by the Flamingo Canal on the north, and Miller Mac Road on the south with the land coming to a point at US 41. This is generally known as the "F Streets" plan, as most of the street names begin with the letter F.
