Riverview Bridge circa 1901.
Abstract/Description
This is earliest known picture of the "new" Riverview Bridge that connected the Tampa Road with Peru. Constructed in 1900-1902 using sections of the old Lafayette Street Bridge in Tampa, which was torn down in the late 1880s or early 1890s. The Tampa Road ended at the south end of the bridge at Riverview where a sandy, difficult to traverse road continued south towards Parrish.

Abstract/Description
Ben Moody is generally regarded as the first settler, along with his six children, who moved to what is now Riverview in 1842. He was one of the original founders of the Methodist Church. His wife Sarah is picture with him.
