In 1925, Sun City was the site selected for a planned movie colony designed to attract the movie industry to South County, Florida. The three men most responsible for this venture were ill-suited dreamers whose actions led to the demise of the colony. This paper explores this history of the planned movie colony and the men behind the effort.

No physical traces of the pirate city have been found, but the legend persists, and treasure hunters still search the island for remnants.
